    Hi there,

We were trimming our goats' hooves yesterday and found holes in one of our goat's hooves. She's the only one that has them. She doesn't seem to be in pain and she let us trim her hooves like normal, but obviously we're worried. We trimmed last month and didn't see anything like this. Anyone have any idea what it is? It's been rainy lately, I don't know if that matters. Thanks!

I wonder if it is some type of worm.

I would think it's the beginning of hoof rot caused by the very wet and rainy weather. I would put some Koppertox on it and let it breathe. Great job to get it trimmed and cleaned out. Try to keep her on dry footing as much as possible. She should be fine.

One of my does had that. I just trimmed them down and they eventually disappeared. No idea what it is. She didn't develop hoof rot.

I agree, trim it off if you can, without making them bleed. I would put iodine on the hooves after trimming.
