Home fecal testing process

I understand the basics of fecal testing at home.

The question I have is preparing the solution to be viewed. Should I use a centrifuge to prepare the sample or can I just let it set for half hour?

The solution I used I had to slowly mix and let it set overnight.

I just mix my salt solution right before I do my fecals. I mix the salt in until no more dissolves. I've never had any issues like that.

What method are you using? I use the McMaster method so I don’t need a centrifuge to prepare the sample. I first purchased the floatation solution but now figure that’s a waste of money. On my next one, I plan to prepare it just like @MellonFriend said. I’ll likely use epsom salt. I found the measurement for salt to water and will get as close to that as possible (I think it was 1/2 c epsom salt to 16 oz of water, but that will make too much for me so I’ll be scaling that down). I plan to do it right before and mix until dissolved. Then proceed with the normal steps of the McMaster method.

Right now I am using the McMaster Slide with a salt solution with a SpG of about 1.25. I mix this up myself about ½ hour before I collect the sample to be tested.
