So I was advised to take a look at my girls' hooves to see if they need trimmed, and I believe they do. What about the heel? I circled what I'm talking about. Does that need trimmed as well? If so, do I trim it all the way to the edge of the foot?? Thanks for help...never had to do this before, so a little unsure of what to trim!!

First of all... those feet look pretty darn good as is. But yes, from the picture, you would ideally take what appears to be the callused portion of the heel off. Along with the edges that are sticking up *a little*... making them even with the sole. (the lightest color portion of foot in the picture.)

i agree with Tenacross. those are great feet. just trim off the part that's higher than the lighter part of the hoof.

They look as if they've been kept up with very well, I agree. I would trim the heel and the sides, just till the foot is flat all across. I'm sure Stacey's link will explain it better than I can. ;)
