Just trimmed new bucks feet. He has been here only a few weeks is 4 yrs old. Hoof wall is seperating.
Someone has posted about that but I cant remember your responses.
What should I do? I think it could be some kind of defiency. Do I do anything topically?

Trim away as much as you can to prevent muck from building in the pocket...scrub his hooves and then use a hoof product on it. Hoof n Heel or Copper Tox

Thanks Liz! Now isnt Koppertox the one that really stinks & you have to use rubber gloves?

Yep, it is, so wear your gloves LOL Koppertox and Thrush XX are the same thing - different labels. Thrush XX seems to be a little less expensive than Koppertox. BUT I do recommend if you have an empty spray bottle, put it in there so it's not as messy. I had an empty 409 cleaning spray bottle that I cleaned out and kept and put my Thrush XX in it - so much easier and less mess!
We've had hoof rot issues in a few goats, so I have been treating everyone at least once a day with Thrush XX to help treat and prevent. This stuff stinks, but it works great!
