not much going on here so figured i would post something....

my mare came back from the stud farm and hopefully she is pregnant.she would be 5-6 weeks if she is. just finally found a vet that would check her and they want $200 just for a palpation. yikes...

I wish she was a mare that showed signs of being in "heat". so please cross your fingers for me that she is pregnant.
She had her first foal last year when she was out on lease. before that i tried to get her in foal since she was 5. IF she isnt pregnant then she has another chance with the stallion again but he is a state away so not too convenient. plus they have horrible bugs and she came back missing half her mane and sores all down her mid line.
she is 11 years old this year.

I hope she's pregnant for you! I would love be a part of a horse kidding I mean foaling thread. 😁 Is there a mare code like a doe code?

Also, pictures please...😙 We won't judge and mane and coat issues.

all try to get photos of her. she looks like a friesian without the lovely hair:( at least she still has part of her tail. this would only be my second foaling. i was told she did good last year. retained her placenta for 30 hours, but that is common for Friesians to go over 24 hours for some reason.

yes she is my dream horse. even spent 10 grand(which i didnt have at the time hence the reason i had to lease her out the next year)on surgery for her at osu(they said it was a one in a million chance of it happening.. so she is not going anywhere :)
Teade 392/ melle 311 on top and Reitse 272/ jochem 259 on the bottom
but she is b book 11. tried to breed her to an approved stallion multiple times over the years but no luck even with her being perfect and so was the swimmers.
so now she is bred to a german bred friesian in hopes of just getting a healthy purebred foal.

Good luck. :)
Best of luck! I had a beautiful tricolored saddlebred mare that had silent heats. We had to put her on regumate back then to get the stud to even service her.

The vet should be able to ultrasound and she is she took. We had to check for ovulation before covering her since she never showed any signs of heat. Did the stallion barn offer live cover or AI?
appointment is august, vet here only does twice weekly large animals so it kind of stinks if she isnt bred and other vet is on leave.. live cover. i tried ai with her multiple times throughout the years with a really good repo vet. but i finally gave up after she had surgery a few years ago. one because i could of bought a friesian with all the money i was spending, two the vet went up in price and most times ai is done after hours so they charge twice as much. and three i was broke after her surgery.
but maybe she might get pregnant since she already had a foal? i think she "loses" it after 30 days as when i was aing she was checked at 17 days pregnant most of the time then she ended up not being.
her mom was on regumate when she was pregnant with this mare. but i ended up buying her mom and she had the next foal without it. (she ended up going back to the previous owners for retirement after her last foal at 18) .

well bummer she is open, she was in heat the last couple of days. cant bring her back to the stud(he is a few hours away) due to a trailer issue so frustrating.....
:(
