Since we have been raising goats we have always kept one buck, housing him separate unless breeding, and once all does are bred we let him live with does until rut, then he harasses already bred does too hard, so we pen separate. We have done everything the same this year, except we added a second buck over the summer for some out breeding. The new buck is young, 8 months, and has lived with our old buck since we got him, outside of breeding periods. Our old buck went into rut this week, and as usual we pulled him from the herd, along with the little buck. He has made the little buck's life miserable ever since. My question is will he be ok? He chases him non stop, won't leave him alone at all. The young buck has not reached rut. Not new to goats, just owning 2 bucks... Thanks for the help.

I agree with Karen. The little guy does not stand a chance against the bigger buck.
