How am I doing?

I have two mini Nubian doelings that are 13 weeks old. I have them in a small pasture 140’x50’ with grass and a few weeds. I give them a 1/2 cup of medicated feed morning and evening. They have free choice minerals. I also put out some alfalfa pellets today. I gave them their CD&T vaccine when I got them a week ago. They also have a small hut to get out of the rain. Is there anything I need to do differentl?

Do they look and act healthy and happy?
just remember that as they continue to grow, what works at first May end up not working later on. IE copper deficiency can still pop up even with good loose minerals.
I started having to bolus after my first couple of years. Now I’m also going to start giving a shot of multi min 2x a year- at breeding and a month prior to kidding.
But you just gotta go with how they look and act a lot of times. 😊
You can post some pictures of your goats and get some feedback on their appearance if you want. Everyone likes pictures 😁
And welcome to TGS 😁😁😁

Yes they are grazing. But was surprised they wouldn’t eat corn husks. I ended up feeding them to the cows.

My babies don’t eat as much stuff as my mamas do. They don’t quite work up the nerve to try something new for a little bit 😂
So you may find that they’ll enjoy them later on.
My goats favorite treats are dried orange peels. I actually had just offered them kind of out of the blue and was surprised they liked them so much… then I had to google to make sure they wouldn’t harm them. Turns out they are super good for them! Not only for the vitamin c, but also for deworming and external parasite prevention as well. Now I can hardly go thru enough oranges to keep them stocked in peels - I pretty much force feed my kids oranges so the goats can get peels 🤣
They like them dried and crunchy. But my babies don’t ever try them till older. I’ll try to get some to the girls this fall after we sell the wethers…

Get a fecal done for cocci and worms.

They are cute and you have done a good job providing for them so far. ;)
