What are some signs of copper deficiency? I need to go to the feed store and if my guys need copper I would like to know so I do not over dose them. Last owner had loose minerals for them and right now all I have is a salt block with minerals and copper. They are not licking it much. The older doe seems to but the babies are not. At least I haven't seen them lick it.
When looking at loose menirals, what should I look for in the copper content?

They get a fist tail when it is really bad. If they are a dark goat, they will get a red color in their hair, and their hair is really rough and well I say plain nasty looking.

I am sure others can tell you better.

    But look at this.

I was looking for one that had pictures but of course I can not find it.

Thier coats are roughish looking. Not like super bad tho.

I read that article and mine do not show any of those signs. So, I guess I am good. I will get a loose mineral w/ copper in it tho at the the feed store.

    Thanks!

    I am glad that helped.

I also give a mineral with Cooper. I need to give Cooper Boluses every few years is all.

    Glad it helped you.
