How many eggs on a fecal to determined whether you would worm or not? My one wether had 4 barber poles on his fecal from yesterday... I use a chambered slide and going by an EPG count that would be 200, they say don't worm for barber poles unless count is over 2000. We have been having lots of wet humid weather. I called my vet and he said no, do not worm........but I just don't always trust the vets. I am just a little worried because his eyelids look a bit pale to me, but I never think any of my goats membranes are as red as they should be according to the Famacha chart. The whole worm issue frustrates me :? ! Also the thing of they can have worms and no eggs show up on a fecal also confuses me, so how would you know if they have a heavy worm load?
Ok, thanks for any advice in advance......Denise

My goats eyelids are in between...never bright red and never white...just pale sometimes. My vet says the same thing but I would think that to prevent an overload it would be best to treat them.
