Well of course today might be the day. I’m gonna be gone for 8 hours. Her ligament are very hard to find. Like i have to dig dig. And her vulva is very swollen. No goo yet so I think it’s gonna be tonight or tomorrow during the day. I noticed her tail up while the other goats had theirs down since it’s cold. I didn’t feel ANY ligaments at fist but when I caught and tied her up they were slightly there. If she’s anything like her dam then it should be another 12-14 hours before kids arrive.

They could possibly share a birthday with my sister.

So I’m home now. No babies. No progress. Except her ligament are back! They were no where to be found this morning. Gone! Tail is being held out and to the side slightly. Udder is shiny. Teats are pointing two different ways. Vulva is puffy and pink. No discharge. Has a limp? Not sure what that’s about. Has dropped. Trying to isolate her self. What is confusing the craps out of me is the ligaments. It’s so frustrating. She’s in the kidding pen and will stay there until babies are born. (maybe) Belly is hanging so low! I’ll post some pictures in a second. But can someone explain the ligaments, please? They were gone this morning but I couldn’t stay home and when I get home they were back but soft then now they are still soft but more firm. I’m very confused.

Thanks in advance!

Ligaments come and go right up till delivery sometimes.I had a doe deliver and I could feel her ligs an hour before… It sounds almost like she’s in prelabor which can last 12 hours or so. I’d plan on keeping a close eye on her tonight.

Alright. Her mom was by the book when she delivered. Except for it lasting a little longer than 12 hours. 16 to be exact. She was also very quite when pushing. Just little grunting noises. I’m hoping for the same with this girl. I hate when they scream. Pulls at my heart strings. Speaking of her mom, she is right behind her daughter. I’m thinking another 4 weeks and I’ll have more babies on the ground.

When you say “come and go” what exactly do you mean. Hers are almost normal it seems. At the moment. And Like I said they were gone this morning. Is that what you mean? I also bumped her. I could feel one baby back towards her udder and to the right. Felt like the back on the baby. Her right side has dropped dramatically. I know I already said that but it’s a lot more noticeable since i’m sitting in here with her.

Yes, they can feel like pencils or spaghetti or gone. …
Word of caution though, don’t bump momma, you don’t want to misalign babies working their way into the correct birth position..it can cause real problems.
Save bumping till after you think she’s done delivering all her kids to double check they’re all out.

So no babies. Ligaments came back. She was very squishy. Felt like a stress ball, best way I can describe it. I have the kidding pen still set up but I let her out so she wouldn’t get stressed. I didn’t bump her any after that one time. She has also started to let me pet and touch her udder which she has never done. Some clear discharge. So I think she is really really close but not quite yet. And her dam is showing some signs of being in the last month or so. Ligaments loosening and udder starting to fill. She is by the book so I still got a little while before she kids.

Here’s a picture of the current does back end. (the one this post is about)

I can’t with these goats!!!

Looks like both does are gonna try to kid at the same time. Both have the same exact signs and “symptoms” One slightly ahead of the other. Very slightly! I really thought I was gonna get babies last night. She was letting me pet her udder she was squishy and had some discharge. Also was up and down a little. I’m thinking in the next week or so. Hopefully! Last time one of my goats made me think she was in labor she kidded exactly one week later.

Tawny's doing the same thing.🤯
She's 3 days from her due date so nothing alarming. Just getting impatient. We are leaving for Disneyland the 17th and want them to be well established before we go.

Best of luck on all your goaties delivering healthy babies.🤞💝

I once had twin sisters deliver a total of 5 babies in 5 minutes!

Here’s the two girls. Both seem to be progressing in sync. The lighter colored doe is Patches, Willows dam. She looks just like she did last year a week away from kidding. Her udder explodes the day of so I can’t really go off of that until then. I’m hoping Willow is similar. I’m thinking any day now for both of them. Kidding pen is still set up so it’s ready. Might have to split in half for the both of them. It’s 10’ by 5’ so if I do it should be big enough.
