give a 2 month old goat with a cold? He only weighs about 10 lbs. The home I got him from was WOW NASTY, :hair: and I could not leave him there. When I mean nasty I mean the inside where we would live was full of rabbits on cedar chips and chicks on paper and you could not find the kitchen stove or anything. They had him in the house out of the cold. But I did look over their other goats and they did look healthy I think he just got a cold due the weather change. There dogs the breed also looked good . :?

For regular pen I give 1cc per ten pounds, twice a day.

    Does he have a temp?

What color is the snot? If he has no temp ....I don't recommend treating :worried: him with antibiotics... :(
Does he act sick at all?

Before treating with pen I would do supportive theropy instead.

Get Nutri drench into him -- like 1-3ccs

Also some VetRx in his nose will help.

Clear snot means a cold which pen will not do a thing for. If it changes in color then it means he is developing pneumonia or somethign like it and that can be treated with pen.

Does his chest sound rattly? if so then yes pen is needed. If not I wouldnt use the pen as it wont do him any good.

I have given pen at the rate of 1 cc per 10lbs twice a day

I should add --- go with your gut. If you feel he needs it at any point do it. As much as I try not to medicate as often as possible. Sometimes you need to go with what you feel is right even if it goes against everyone's oppions.
