I wish I could make myself not look at Craiglist! I've been thinking about adding dairy goats to my herd for quite a while, saw nubian & alpine bottle babies for $30 a piece & called right away........ No CAE/CL/Johnes or Scrapie testing, they weren't sure if the dams were vaccinated prior to kidding, didn't know what kind of milk/milk replacer they were using..... ggggrrrrrrrrrr.......... had to say "thanks for your time" and pass it up. Guess I'm not supposed to do that just yet. Thanks for letting me vent.
Good for you! I mean for making sure they have health requirements met. It will keep the rest of your herd healthy. And I agree...the right ones will come along. CL is my weakness too!
I'm also addicted to CL  Too bad no one around me ever has goats! Sheesh. The closest I can find is a papered Oberhasli buck an hour away, which I have no need for.
I just put up my friends doeling on CL and got a wacko who is interested. "Oh I had A goat a while back" "Yah she will be fine I am outside all the time" :veryangry:
he said he will call me on monday -- I told him over the weekend to seriously think about how it would be like if he was left alone his entire life and had no one to talk to!
