I have 7 pygmy goats. 5 females ranging in age from 4 months to 3 to 4 years. Anyways I have one billy that is intact, our other billy someone found wondering in his yard and went around to all the farmers that had goats. Couldn't find owner so he ask if we would take it and if someone showed up looking for it he would tell them anyways that was a few months ago. I am trying to figure out if he can breed. He is not as well hung as our other billy but he does have small testicles, so can or can he not bred? Help

if he is a buck then yes he can breed. if he is a wether then no he cant

bucks can breed as young as a couple months old (as can does go into heat and get pregnant).

By small testicles what do you mean?? Do you have a picture? Does he act like a buck? If he has a very small sack it's possible he is a wether, but was castrated via buzziurdo(sp) So he would still have a sack, just thing's wouldn't work lol.

I don't know if he was fixed or anything about him because he was found wondering around and we took him in. I don't have pics right now. But they are small almost golf ball size where our other billy is large. I believe he is a wether because we have a doe in heat last week and he didn't try to bred where our other billy did! Just everything I could find said wethers have no testicles

Sounds like maybe he was castrated with the Bulzer (what ever that thing is). It keeps the sac there, it never goes away.

In this case size does not matter ..... you might have to just give him a go at it and see what happens.

When in doubt, feel  You will know if there is something in there. If it feels like small hard marbles hes probably been wethered. If they feel sorta soft and alive with tubular structures, hes probably a prospective buck.

Sounds to me like he's wethered. I can't tell for sure without a pic. Does he stink and/or pee on himself? Does he have a beard? Most bucks will have heavier longer fur on their chin and chest rather than wethers or does. Unless...he was castrated as a buck.
