Browsing for goat and I happened upon dairy calf's a few hours away. A little begging and I convinced my husband 1 for us 1 for a guy he works with. Then of course I figured why not add 1 little heifer I can raise up as my future milk cow. So I now have a trio of brown Swiss. Boys are 1 week & just over a week the girl is 4 or 5 days (dance)

Thanks everyone they're so cute so different from the goats. The girl had me worried last night brat wouldn't take the bottle. I knew she'd eaten off one before my husband saw her being fed but she refused. Decided to let her get good and hungry and this morning she was bumping the boys while I fed them got the bottle in her mouth and she happily sucked the whole thing down:D

If we had room we would do that, too! I am glad she quit resisting her bottle.

Anybody want two houses in our little town in exchange for about 3 acres and a house?:truck:

Goat scout this guy had a bunch he also had Dutch belted which I’m hoping to get next year :)
Old post farm I’m looking forward to trying it. Ours will be about thy age when we butcher
Troll or I hope not these guys seem to get around well I didn’t see any of the adults as my husband picked them up but I would think animals in pain wouldn’t be good producers

I love cattle. If I had more land, I would have a yoke of oxen and a milk cow.

Thought Id update this. We're down to just my little gray guy though he's not so little now. He's sweet and I suspect theres going to be some tears when the time finally comes to put him in the freezer. We sold off the girl and sadly lost one which made me rethink my raising them every year idea. But heres my little Smokey enjoying his morning rub down.
