I have a doe on her third freshening who I believe is drinking her own milk. Last year my ND doe was producing about a cup of milk each milking (which makes sense since I don’t have very strong dairy lines and it was near the end of her lactation) a few days before the fair she just nearly stopped producing (like a forehand cup each milking) I thought it was normal since I’m new to goats and she had not been giving me much. She just kidded a little over a week ago and I locked her babies up last night to milk her this morning. When I came out this morning her udder was barely full her babies were still securely locked up so I know it was not them. Is their another reason for this or is she drinking her own milk? If she is is there anything I can do to stop her? Any input is appreciated.
