I bought a goat recently and have zero background information on her. Is she dapple or are there other spotted patterns that goats can get? Is she cou clair? Im still new to this so I'm also having trouble pinpointing a breed.. I'm thinking she’s mixed. She’s around 140 pounds, brown eyes, and has a slight belly bump (I thought I was over feeding her but now I’m thinking she’s pregnant because I’m seeing amber discharge as of yesterday). I would appreciate any help I can get.

True- pictures of her vulva and udder would help to verify. I think in the pictures provided, she looks dropped a little bit/hollowed out… and if amber discharge present, then it might not be very long before you grow your herd. Lol

I tried my best with pictures but she doesn’t like it when people stand right behind her.. doesn’t help that’s she’s very hairy back there. She quickly jogged back to the barn once the treats were gone 🙂 I haven’t noticed any more discharge today

She's pretty! Her right side looks pretty round. I can't really make out her udder, but the teats look like they may be filling up a bit. Her vulva looks like it is pointing down (the bottom point), which can be a sign of pregnancy. It doesn't look really loose, like she may kid really soon, but you never know. I have a doe who shows absolutely NO signs of pregnancy or kidding. She is very wide bodied, so she tucks those kids deep inside. Her udder doesn't fill until the kids are born. Ligaments, vulva do not loosen until the kids are literally on their way. She doesn't nest, hide away, talk to them, nothing. One minute she is just plain Schmoo, a few minutes later she has kids and a very pleased looking smirk on her face. She has done this to me every single kidding- all 8 of them!

Genetically, what is the difference between moon spots and white spots? Or are plain white spots called moon spots? I was taught that moon spots cannot be white. Some of these patterns and colors really mess me up. LOL
Moonspots can't be white or on white.
