I'm Freeked...

    I'm completely freaked out
    I've got 2 maremma dogs running with my angora goats
    an we are in a very bad drought and the dogs have got fleas (but it's not worrying them)
    however now i see that my goats have got fleas :help: and there giving them sores
    what can i do :scratch: :scratch: :scratch:
    i've never had this happen before... and to top it off because my parents property is certified organic, i cant use chemical :scratch: :help:
    please help
    I'm frantic.....

    Can you try diatomaceous earth that should fit with the certified organic program I believe....

    lavender essential oil also works for getting rid of external parasites I hear.

    Glad to hear you have the DE

    i didn't know goats got fleas till now.....grrrrrrrrr :angry:

    it might not be fleas but lice

    lice look like lil bit of white stuff don't they...
    anyway these are fleas,,, identical to dog fleas... they are not bad tho...i was really worried cos my buck was acting strange...
    however i discovered the reason ....( lantana) lovely lovely lovely...... :hair:
    the does are not eating it thank goodness... however i'll have to deal with it...
    (for those who don't know....lantana is a PEST in australia )

    I've heard garlic will work, you'd have to feed the "stinky" kind, but it's pretty cheap.
