there was a minimum order-
i ordered 10 silvuerudd's chicks, 1 opal legbar pullet and 1 opal legbar cockerel
i know, why would i order a boy on purpose.... but i have 6 split and opal pullets/hens and in need of a roo. Couldnt find any splits around so decided to just go for it an order one. Hopefully he will be a nice boy, as I am really picky when it comes to flock roosters.
I figured going with the 50% i will get 5 pullets out of 10 and just pick out the two nicest cockerel's and sell the rest of the cockerel silverudd's. I know i wont get my $ that i paid for them but thats how it goes.....
I was bummed when there homozygous roosters died so they have to use a heterozygous rooster for the silverudd's blue flocks. So any cockerels i want to retain will have to be tested for the blue gene. As you generally keep homozygous roos only.

i think shipping next monday for tuesday arrival, at least i hope so she said overnight and i work on monday so 🙏. she lives in Washington and i am in mid oregon.

i pre-ordered i think this summer. I probably should of waited a year, but it will work out. Now to find an incubator that works great. my brinsea eco is not working. I think its the humidity i have issues with since i bought it years ago. I did finally take it all apart and found out the metal bar on the base was rusty so hopefully that was the issue?>looking at a rcom incubator its all automatic. not sure how long the chick market will be, so debating if its worth it. I am going to be going thru two bags of feed a month with these extra chicks and I already in the RED with my goats and horse. Trying to find something that can at least pay for itself.

well they didnt have any opal legbars hatch, but i couldnt wait until next hatch date as i was working so I added one more silverudd's blue and she took off one legbar from the list. so i think she said two splash, two black and the rest are blue. 11 total

i didnt have any bands and she said she would wing band them for me. They kind of look similar when grown.
