I don't know how it happened but my very pregnant doe that is due March 15 fell on her back and couldn't get back up. I turned around and saw her kicking and trying to get up so I hurried and helped her up. Do you think this hurt her babies. I've been wanting babies from her forever, and know I hope she don't lose them. I'm so worried.
Keep a very close eye on her over the next few days. Odds are nothing will happen but you want to be ready in case something does.
Oh no...poor girl... She may of tried... to roll a bit ...to maybe scratch her back or to re-adjust the kids... the kids may of been pushing on her and making her uncomfortable.......with those big bellies ...it makes it hard for them... to get up sometimes...... No... it shouldn't of hurt the babies.... I would watch her close for a while..... if she was on her back to long ....I would be more worried about fluid in the lungs.... if her head was lower then the rest of her body....... If she goes off feed take her temp...otherwise.... if you caught it early.....she should be OK...had that happen to one of my preggers....she tried to scratch her back and was on a uneven area...she tried to turn herself back over... but couldn't....I seen it happen and was right there for her..... babies came out just fine... :thumb:
Aww Joanie I totally know how you are feeling...I go through the same exact anxiety every kidding season and still worry even after the babies arrive. I'm sure she'll be fine, and to make you feel better check her for kid movement at different times of the day... My girls would get so annoyed with me when I would get them on the stand to eat just so I could feel those kicks...sometimes I'd even trick them into thinking they were getting fed, just so I could feel babies again
Thanks she seems ok but im still worried. I dont know what happened she was behind me, I dont know if she was getting ready to jump up on me and I turned around and she fell over are what but I dont think she was there long. But I just worry so much over this, I want these babies bad.
I moved my two does that are first in line to kid to the kidding pen I have set up by my house (my other pens are a LONG way from the house and I like to keep a close eye on them when they get close). Anyway, one of them was having a tempertantrum because she did not want to be led. I wasn't even pulling when she did it but she went down on her knees and went to lie down in protest but rolled over on her side, legs flailing. I helped her up and she was fine...I think those big bellies just get in the way! I am sure yours will be fine!
Thanks she still appears to be fine this morning. She miscarriage on me last year so really want these babies.
Glad she is OK today...I will pray... that all... will be fine and you will get those beautiful healthy babies.... ray:
