Is there a cure for Abscesses?

    I am looking at a lamancha doe that the people that had her up sale just saw a abscess on her. Is there a cure for that? :shrug:

    If it is a CL abcess NO CURE, and the only way to know if it is a CL abcess is to have her tested for it as well as knowing exactly where the abcess is located.....not all abcesses are CL.

    It depends upon the location of the abscess. Personally I would avoid buying any goats with abscesses since they could be CL.

    I agree.... it depends on the location........but as sarah mentioned....I to... am also Leary.. of buying any animal with abscesses.....I just don't .... :hug:

    Like others said no cure if its a CL abcess, and thats contagious. so you dont want to bring that into your herd. If its just a shot abcess then you can lance it and be rid of it. If its a calcium abcess, its best to have a vet deal with it. But your first order of business is to find out what kind of abcess it is. Where is it located at on the goat?
