Is this orchard hay good enough?

Did you break a bale open? It is probably fine as long as not moldy or anything.

I was used to alfalfa before I bought orchard grass hay and it’s never the color I think it should be. I do the feel and sniff test. I break it open, make sure it feels good, no damp or dewy spots, then I tear it apart and look and sniff for any mold. As long as all that checks out, I feel fine feeding it.

Doesn’t look good to me either.

All that hay is good for is bedding.

I wouldn’t use it for goat bedding.
