Ok i have seen a few of you guys feed kelp to your goats. I have wanted to for some time but havn't found anywhere to get any. My feed store sells what the call a garden klp, i looked at the ingerdiant and all it is is kelp So im assuming its the same thing.. However is fifty three dollars for a fifteen lb bag! ouch. There is a lady that sells it by the pound in oregon and its only a dollar a lb which is a great price but by the time i buy enough to last me awhile shipping is my first born child. Does anyone know of anywhere else to get it?
thanks in advance

It has a bunch of vitamins and good stuff in it. I can't remember the specifics, but goats love it. I have to mix 1/2 kelp, 1/2 minerals, because if I offer them separately they only eat the kelp. I get it from Hoegger's, and get two or three bags at a time. It lasts my three goats a long time! The 12 lb bag I got has lasted 4 months so far (mixed with minerals) and there's a lot left. I leave it out free choice. This website is interesting

Kelp is a wonder thing. It has all the vitamins and Mineral that are needed and it is all fresh and not processed.
I have three different mineral feeders with the Sea Kelp and 5 that have minerals. Sweet Lix Meat makers. I go through the minerals faster then the kelp. I never mix them because they both have different things that the goats need at different times.

Chelsey,
Now when I put them out at first they did go after the Kelp when it was first there, then after they got all that they need, they do not go through it NEAR like they did. I try really hard to never run out of either because it seems like they will eat it like crazy. Both of them.

where do you order yours from Lori?
I get mine from one of the feed stores. They are the only ones that will get it for me and boy has it gone up. For a 50# bag it is now $83.00, but I will pay it because it is worth it for me.
