I had a Boer doe down with Preg Tox. There was no sign of movement from babies. Called vet out that night and she recommended to take the doe to the hospital for induction/c-section. The cost was going to be in the thousands with no guarantee the doe would make it. I opted for home treatment/induction to see what happened. We expected with the induction she would deliver her deceased babies, and her outcome would be touchy. She was given meds to treat the toxemia and to induce her. Her bag was decreasing and there were no signs of delivery. The first day produced no real change. The second day we went out expecting to see dead kids, and possibly a dead doe. To our surprise, there were 3 ALIVE kids with momma. Her sides were completely sunken in. We continued to treat her for the Toxemia and other boosting protocols. Today is day 3 post partum and she seems to be weak and not wanting to get up for the babies. We have been sure we go out multiple times a day to help the babies nurse and try to supplement with a bottle. I've been giving her Thiamine, Prevail, drench, molasses, Pedialyte in her water, and Propylene Glycol. Not sure what else I can do at this point. Waiting for more advice from the vet, other than keep doing what your doing.

I don't have experience with this, but make sure you are feeding enough protein, give B complex, and calcium. How is her color? temp? is she eating, drinking?
Her temp is 102. She is eating lactating doe, alfalfa and some grass hay. Today she will drink laying down and eat from your hand but doesn't have the strength to stay standing. I've given her Thiamine 500 mg. shot.

The B complex has other B vitamins that will encourage appetite and help build up her strength. If she were mine, I would get some B complex, calcium, and as much high protein food into her as you can. Some people on here have given smoothies with canned pumpkin, soaked alfalfa pellets, etc. Did the vet check for worm?

I hope someone more informative sees this soon.

Hows her famacha? Need to make her get up and walk a bit. Use a large towel as a sling to support her. B complex is best. I would drench her with a dose of oral CMPK. Keep lots of browse foods in front of her to choose..leaves..vines, pine and cedar. Also as mentioned..smoothies of dark greens, carrots , celery, garlic clove..
Has she delivered her placenta?

She has no signs of worms, famacha is good. The drench has B vitamins/calcium but I'm not sure if it is enough

There was just a little placenta left on the ground that we cleaned up. She has no bleeding or discharge

Were her ketones tested with ketone strips before delivery? Do they test normal now? And did she at any point completely stop eating? Is she an overweight doe?

If she is eating on her own, I would stop the Propylene Glycol.

What is the specific Drench you are using?

I would cut leafy branches and offer them to her. But yes, you need to use manpower and a bath towel sling to get her on her feet three times a day.

Does her milk production now appear normal? Did her feet heat and swell and are they normal now?

The prevail Banamine should be doing the trick! Pretty amazing she delivered three live kids with no assistance while down.
