One of my kids is about four days old. I noticed her eye was nasty this morning. It looks a little swollen. I cleaned it off but I am really worried. She has a little bit of runny poo so I was giving her probios. Does she need antibiotics? Can she even have antibiotics. I do not want to lose her
You can use saline solution to wash the eye if it has anything in it or a warm compress to help open it if it is gunked up. Like Pam said check for inverted eyelid. You would only need antibiotics if there is a infection or a cold.
