I bought 2 ND does 3 months ago who were housed with a buck. If they were bred, they would be at least 3 months along, but they are not developing udders. They have both kidded once before. Last week the smaller doe (tan and white) had some whitish discharge....what would that mean? They are getting bigger, but not sure if I just feed them more than the previous owner. PS These are not great, but the best I could get because they run away from me. http://s987.photobucket.com/albums/ae35 ... 001/goats/
Re: Kidding question white discharge could mean the plug is coming out, or that theyre in heat. have you noticed any signs of heat?
Re: Kidding question Are they really round? Do you feel any udder development? When did they kid last? She could have been in heat like AlaskaBoers said.
Re: Kidding question They lived with the buck up until I bought them 3 months ago. One is bigger than the other, and looking hefty, not round. They were the same size when I bought them. I will put up some pictures to get some more thoughts on this. I guess I need to find a post on the signs of heat.... If her plug was coming out, wouldn't she have an udder? How soon before kidding does the plug come out?
Re: Kidding question can you post pictures? usually plugs are about a month before kidding, but this could just be a heat. some does can wait until kidding to develop udders..though most would have an udder if they were a month away...
Re: Kidding question Absolutely...I will take pictures tomorrow when it is light outside (6:30 pm now). Thanks everyone for the feedback...can't wait to have pictures to show you!!!
Re: Kidding question love to see pics.... My does are 3 months along now...they don't have a discharge and they don't have udder development at a glance.... I usually notice the udders around the 4th month....with my does
What do you all think? Pregnant?Any thoughts? I cannot get better pictures without help so this is all I have =( :hair: http://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae355/shanzone2001/goats/008.jpghttp://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae355/shanzone2001/goats/010.jpg
Oh, and as to the udder, mine usually start uddering up a month before. So yours still have time. My Hope has at most 22 and as little as 16 days left and has a handful of udder now.
With your pics.. it is hard to tell...they are not close enough.... maybe do as Stacey mentioned ...it may help... Some of my does ...are starting to fill .....they are a little over 3.5 months along...
