When I shaved Tilly's udder this afternoon I noticed she has 2 scrape type areas on her udder. They are each about 4" long and go side to side. Will this cause a problem as her udder grows? I have been putting antibiotic ointment on the areas to keep them soft and prevent infection. Where the lacerations came from is anybody's guess. It could have been from a horn, a broken branch, a broken tree stump, anything from the ice storm damage. Will this cause her to be more likely to develop mastitis or other udder infection? The lacerations look superficial and healing so maybe I am just a worry wart since they don't bother her. I just don't want her udder to suddenly get huge and split open.

yah probably from a tree branch -- and nope as long as it doesnt get anythign in it and they stay superficial it wont impact her udder in anyway as it grows. sounds like you are doing the right thing for it :thumb:
