Ok, I'm trying to figure out my milk profits (just an estimate to give me an idea), so I have some questions for people with large breed milk goats..

Say I have a Nubian, and at her peak, she milks a gallon a day.
How long is the AVERAGE lactation? Not how much your specific doe gives, I want the average length.
Given upon the average lactation, how many total gallons would that goat give for her laction? That includes when she tapers off until dry..

I know it is different for each doe though..
We dry our does off when they start giving about a cup a day.

I had it all figured out at one point, but now I'm questioning my estimate..

you should be milking 305 days for each doe

i usually do about 8 months each for my does

with standard dairy goats you can leave them dry (not kid them) and they'll milk 2 years or so. I know someone who has a goat that's been milking 5 years and hasnt kidded in those 5 years - well obviously it did initially.
Whiss is gonna be a 2-year-milking goat. She is standard at 1 - 1.5 litres a day once a day milking... ad infinitum.

I want to breed each year to have maximum milk yield to make money.
