What type of minerals do any of you use who own lambs and sheep?

We are relatively new at raising them and are evaluating what is the best to give to them.

As we have had problems in our region of the country with low selenium levels we are wondering if the sheep and lambs need to be bolstered like the goats have needed a boost? Selenium plus E Gel, or Bose? What do you do?

A neighboring farm has also had selenium issues with his goats, pigs, and land.

Any other supplements or anything you give other than letting them either graze and hay? What type of feed mix do you use for grain, or are you straight grass fed?

    Thank you!:sun:

Also, do you give the Selenium injections or gel?

we used a local blend made for sheep and yes..we gave BoSe to our sheep...just be sure NOT to give to pregnant ewes..they dont know why but it can cause death in the ewes...best to dose before breeding and again after lambing if selenium def. is a big issue
