Glad you have an answer and the goat was treated.
I figured I’d update in case anyone has a similar issue. After he seemed to improve for a couple days after the Equimax his belly got big again. About a week later he got soft poop again. I was really frustrated since I’d already treated him twice for coccidiosis and was ready to wether him for poor parasite resistance. Since I’d used the sulfadimethoxine the two prior times I went ahead and treated with Corid. His poop returned to normal. Now, about two weeks later, he looks totally normal. No big belly, normal poops, improving muscling. I’m thinking his problem has been coccidiosis with a splash of tapeworms, and that the coccidia were resistant to the sulfa med. We’re going to hold off on wethering him as he’s now back to looking like the nicest buckling of this years kids (he might be nicer than his sire). If he has more issues I will wether him, but if I didn’t properly treat him in the first place then I can’t hold that against him.
He really looks so much better. Thank you for the update
Good to hear.
Wow, what a difference! So happy he is better!
Nice looking buckling!
