Lice - Would you clip your goat for lice management

Hello, I own two male Golden Guernsey Goats whose hair is quite long. They have Lice and its hard to keep onto of treatment. I am considering clipping them - does anyone recommend this? I live in Jersey Channel Islands so its not freezing during summer months or do you recommend cutting the long hair right down and then treating them? I bathe them when its hot enough but they are rubbing on the chicken/duck pen and they made a whole and a Crow got to our ducklings which made me feel guilty about the Goats rubbing which I believe is down to Lice. I use a lice powder too and brush them but it seems impossible to get rid of them hence the thought of a good clip!

Have you tried blue Ivermectin Pour on to treat the lice? It is a topical treatment that is used by applying it down the back along the spine once every 10 (ten) days. Also important would be to remove any and all bedding material each time on the day they were being treated.

What type of lice powder did you use and how often were you applying the lice powder?

You can flip them if you would like. If you have wonky weather I’m not sure I would. But I really like this stuff

FarmGard Permethrin Concentrate Pest Control for Livestock Dogs Country Vet - Fly Sprays Repellents the goats not so much since you mix it up and then pretty much soak the animal lol but it treats just external bugs, no worries about building a resistance with a topical wormer.
We get lice here bad every year with all the birds and wild life.

Thank you both for your reply. I will see if I can get that in the UK rather than America or the equivalent. The Louse Powder now is a standard off the shelf and you are meant to put it on them but I never notice the Lice falling off if that make sense. I have also read garlic 3 times a week is good for them so I am going to start that also just as a general health aspect as one is coughing a fair bit at the moment. Honestly i thought goats pretty much kept themselves but not these Golden Guernseys!!!
