Seems everyone's got this problem today...I left Talala alone for 10 minutes to go find my phone to take pictures of the kids (was trying to get a comparison), and when I come back out, she's limping.

It's a weird limp, though. She keeps extending it, letting it bend at the knee while she's standing, and when she's walking she extends it as far as possible forward before putting weight on it. I already did all the checks, no breaks, no heat, no external injuries. Foot's fine, I can bend it at every joint without problems (the pastern joint is a bit stiff, but that's it), so my best guess is she bugged Jenny one time too many and she got whacked.

My big question is-will she still be limping next month, and what's the best thing I can do for her to help her get over it?

I do have pictures, in case there's something I missed. Please try to ignore the adorably cute faces in the background, Talala wanted to be near "her" baby...

She may of got hit or hung up somewhere.... :(

If she swells up or is in pain... you can give Banimine( from Vet) or give her something for pain and swelling... Is she preggers?

Also.. if you want to wrap it with vet wrap you can....

Is she barring any weight on it at all?

I think Jenny knocked her pretty hard in the shoulder.

She is putting weight on it, just not a lot and she's still trying to figure out how to walk without it. She's almost gone down face first a couple of times, but at the very least she's putting weight on the leg.

She's not pregnant, either. About a week and a half fresh, actually.

I had a doe doing this a couple weeks ago, except on a back leg. Over the first day she gradually moved more and put more weight on it and by the end of the second day she was fine. She hurt it on a new toy we moved in there, it was a mistake to do that, the toy is for the next occupants of that spot. The yearlings are a little big for it. I don't know what she did, but it was clearly something to do with that toy. I would wait and see.

I think I figured out what happened (after what my husband told me last night). He said she was limping still, she stepped odd and he heard a pop, and from there she stopped limping (for the most part, she's still favoring it a bit this morning), so I think she just dislocated her shoulder, which is a huge relief to me, I've had enough issues trying to get her ready for next month's show, I didn't need her half crippled for it on top of everything else.

This is actually kind of funny.

My doe Jenny, whos the herd queen, was limping today! It wasnt bad though, she would stand on it when she wasnt moving but as soon as she started walking she would limp. I felt it and everything was fine. It was very crackly, which is normal for jenny, her bones have always been that way even though we have lots of minerals I guess she was deficient as a kid maybe.

So do I need to do anything? Shes the queen, so im thinking someone tried to challenge her or something like that! Its never happened before though, but I cant think of how she would hurt it.
