My Mini-oerhasli has been in labor for 8 hours now. This is her 3rd kidding but my first one with both her and any other goat. She expelled mucus plug this morning. Keeps having contractions, labored breathing and some pushing. But no further progress. Should I be concerned?

Yes, you should be concerned! I would glove up and check her. If you're not comfortable with that, call the vet.

Labor should not be this long. Do you have anyone nearby you can call?
If not, I would clean up, go in &"see " what the hold up is.

Thanks. I'm okay to check her but what exactly am I determining? Dilation or turned kid, etc. thanks so much.

Well we just got home (a little after midnight) and mom and her two little bucklings all settled in. We ended up rushing to our vet. Thanks for everyone's caring words and comments. It saved our goat!
