My fourteen year old Nubian mix doe has very recently developed a tennis ball size lump on the back of her neck. I can’t find a puncture wound of any sort, it’s not red or hot to the touch, and doesn’t seem to cause her discomfort when manipulated. She lives alone (due to a bullying daughter) and doesn’t seem to have sustained any type of injury. Any ideas? Could this be a tumor or bizarre abscess due to injury? Oh! No hair loss on the area.
Thanks for the help!

Can you post a picture? Is it hard or soft? squishy? No recent shots?

Thank you for responding! From this view, it doesn't look like anything. It's just a strange large bulge. The feeling is distinctly round and rather squishy. May be an abscess, but no lesions at all. So strange!
Vet was here a few days ago, but the lump was not here then!
Sorry for the double image.

I would wonder about a shot as well since it popped up after the vet left...?
