I bought a microscope like the one on Fiasco Farms web site. It's a nice microscope for the price, however, now I wish I'd bought one with a mechanical stage. I just CANNOT seem to move the slide up and down right! It seems to go every which way and I loose my place on the slide.
But if you're steadier than me and could move the slide without having a breakdown, the kind like Fiasco Farm uses (It's called "My First Lab Microscope by C&A Scientific") would work fine. That's the one I have.
You can detect most everything on a goat fecal on low power but they'll look nicer on the 10x. It takes a little longer to get through the slide though. Be sure if you are doing fec to focus on the bubbles and not the debris on the field. The bubbles are where the eggs are.
