More on hoof trimming

    I need to trim my next goats hoofs.

    Is the frog the pad part that is quite solid? Do you actually try and trim that down? I thought that I saw a description of that on another website.

    I never heard that goats have frogs, but I never learned the parts of the hoof...

    Yep, you can trim basically any part. For the sole you might want to rasp it because it is sometimes hard to get small enough chunks off since it is just a flat surface, and then they might be sore, or bleed a bit if you get too much.

    The frog is commonly labeled the soft sole, or vice versa. It is incorrect terminology, but commonly used.
