been working hard on fencing but of course the little buckling found a tiny spot i missed and decided to hang out with the girls. well zig was in heat and no idea if he bred her.She doesnt go near the buck when she is in heat but this little guy isnt very scary(he is smaller then she is).
if so her kidding date would be when she is 12 months old. i would guess she is 38-40 pounds right now(no grain just grassy alfalfa and browse). i can not tell if he serviced her or not as they all have had strong heats the last few months. but when i did find that he was with the does she was running from him whenever he would give her any attention.

The good news is that he was the one she would of been bred to this spring so thats a plus. but never had any does kid that early.
I am just not sure if the side effect of lute would be worth it or any opinions on kidding at a year old.
by the way i had to wait half a day to find out where he was getting out the little stinker.

Could I suggest a blood test after 30 days of possible breeding? If she has been in heat..its possible no pregnancy.

You can lute at any time in the pregnancy. It has to be at least 14 days after breeding happens. But I would behavior test and ultrasound first.

I have heard bad outcomes and good outcomes. So there is some risk of C-section or complications.

    Hopefully she is not. :(

update- so far one came back into heat. yay. the lady who was feeding the herd for the weekend thought something was wrong with her.haha. she was so loud and sounding like she was dieing. the other one would be coming into heat in the next week, she is the older larger girl so not as worried. she is 40 pounds
