My Goat keeps sticking her head through the fence!!

    My goat keeps sticking her head through the fence but she cant ever get it out without someone helping her, snd im afraid she might end up hanging her self, are ther any alternatives besaides an electric fence? :shrug:

    Is she horned? If so, you can duct tape a length of PVC pipe across her horns(parallel with the ground).

    YEP that is what I was going to say. I have one I have to do it to now.

    Smaller squares in the fence would work as well. :wink:

    ours cant do that..but I would also use the pvc if they could.

    wait....maybe I worded that wrong....if my goats could get there little heads through the fence...I would put the pvc dunce hat on them...then laugh. no just kidding.

    My Alpine wether got his head stuck in a cattle panel once. He does not have horns, just a very large head...and apparently a large brain too because he hasn't tried puting his head through there again.

    I have 38 goats and have had that problem with only one. Oh sure, another will occasionally do it, but Star is the queen of having her head stuck. She knows I'll come get her loose eventually and she will just eat everything she can reach and wait for me to release her. She finally has gotten better since she freshened in April. The one time she did get stuck since she kidded, the kids were both on her drinking her dry and she couldn't do anything about it. That made me laugh.
    I tried vet wrapping a stick across her horns last year, but she always got it off, duct tape must be the answer.
