My hermaphrodite male is horny and chasing our nanny (who is already bred) and any person who comes near enough gets peed on. He keeps rubbing on her side and has rubbed her hair off in one spot. Not sure what to do to give her some relief or calm him down. Any ideas?

When we try to separate them (we only have 3 right now, a pregnant doe, a whether and a billy) the billy will break the fence to get to her. We can distract him with leaves and forage, and he'll stop for awhile, but then he gets started again. He will even pee on any person that catches his fancy (meaning, everyone). Can't count the number of times we've been peed on. If he come up and starts rubbing on us, you can bet he's also peeing on us. When he calms down, he's a real sweetie, he is just super horny right now.

He will not leave her alone. He needs to be separated from her. The stress can lead to miscarriage. When she kids..this can be an issue as well.
Can you pen him where he can not see the doe?
How special is he? Is rehoming an option?

A hermaphrodite has both male and female organs. My billy is a complete male, but has an udder and possibly ovaries but no vulva or birth canal, don't know if he has a womb. He has fathered twins and triplets every season and is gentle and loving with the kids. I've never had him act like this. He usually is in rut for a few weeks and then it is over for the year. This has been off and on for about 2 weeks so far and lasts for about 4 hours a day. When he's through being horny, he'll lay next to her and 'cuddle' and be very affectionate.(he's really weird)

It’s not uncommon for a buck, usually in dairy bucks, to have a udder and be 100% male. Usually this means he has some awesome milking lines.
But I second the separation and the hot fence. That usually teaches them to behave. If that is not a option, do you have a horse/stock trailer? I had a terrible buck that learned how to short out the hot fence and get out and cause trouble. And he got moved to the trailer until I sold him.......not saying you should sell him (although that is defiantly a option). But it should keep him contained until hopefully he’s done being in rut and you can try his pen again

Yes..my saanen buck came into milk ever rut season. His daughters were very milky

I agree that he's at a age of change. Meaning many bucks get a little more persistent or aggressive after 4. He definitely needs to move to a different oen so your doe can relax

Most hermaphrodite have both sex organs visual. So some sort of vulva and penis. Somtimes penis is just a ball thing on the vulva area. We had one born here with vulva under her/him..penis was internal but close to the surface to see. No testicle at all. Usually they act male..are stocky. There are so many varieties to the way they are set up. I agree if he is a true hermaphrodite..I would not breed him..but from what I understand..I think he is just very dairy

Hermaphrodites cannot breed, he is just a buck with an udder. You need to separate otherwise you will risk the doe to abort her kids.
