Lotion: 18 oz distill water ( I use 10% goats milk here..so 1.8 goats milk, rest water to equal 18 oz)
1.2oz Shea butter or *Kpagnan Butter ( I prefer the Kpagnan for a smooth powder like feel)
1.7 oz Sweet almond oil
1 oz Avocado oil
1.2 oz E wax
1 oz . Steric acid
.2 oz ( point 2) Phenonip preservative.
1 oz Fragrance or Ess. oil

1. In double broiler heat butter oils, e wax and steric acid until melted and smooth
2. warm water/milk to approx same temp as water/milk.

Mix the two until well blended. I use a whisk. Once well blended and smooth check temp. Should not be warmer than 140 degree to add your preservative and fragrance/ EO. Once temp is below 140..add the preservative and your choice fragrance or EO. Whisk well to blend. I find orange eo take longer to blend in. Pour while still warm and fluid into your container. will thicken as it cools.

70-80-% water ( no more then 10% milk)
5-8% Steric acid
3-6% E wax
rest is butter and oils
Point 5% fragrance/ eo and point5-1% Preservative

A note: I tried other preservative with using goats milk. Phenonip has served well with preventing mold. with Germaben 11 I got pink mold.

It helps thicken...I have heard it called a co-emulsifying agent.

Do I heat the water/milk to the same temp as the oils? What does this mean?

Yes you want them about the same temp so they blend well
