Okay I cannot afford to have a vet come out here and do my bloodtesting. That would result in about fifty bucks gas and in all I would get robbed off like a hundred and some. So I am planning on doing my own bloodtesting toward the end of this month . . . any tips, things I should know, be aware of before I do this testing? Pix of goats being bloodtested? Any other place to do it besides the neck? Thanks, people!

Definitely pull your own blood, it will save you a bunch of money for sure. You always draw it in the neck, there are several online demo's of how to do it. For me it's really easy on my dairy girls, but more difficult on my Boer's big fat necks. :) I use WSU/WADDL for the testing.

Definately from the neck, draw yourself, and send to WADDL. For non washington residents it is 21.00 for CAE, CL, and Johnes per goat plus $20.00 case fee and about 10.00 shipping charge.

    SO worth it!

    Talitha,

You DO NOT want to know how much I owe WADDL right now - LOL!

But after this year with -

    16 does
    3 bucks
    2 wethers

It will be about $300 plus supplies so about 330.00. For all 3 tests - but I have a washington address so it costs me $7.00 less per goat on all 3 tests.

Johnes - I have heard of a positive case here - and really - for 6 dollars more might as well since you already have the blood drawn and there
