If it’s 10 A.M. Eastern standard time in New York City, what time is it in Los Angeles?

for every time zone it is an hour ahead or an hour behind.

there are 4 sets of time zones in the continental United States. Eastern, Central and Mountain and pacific. Between the eastern and mountain there is a 3 hour difference, between mountain and pacific there is only 1 hour difference. And between central and pacific there is a 2hour difference.

here is an artical on it

Except in AZ, they are on standard time, they are two hours behind me(central time), three hours behind Eastern, and in time with Pacific. I'm buying goats from a breeder in AZ and the only time I can get her is really late at night or like around chore time here.
