Ok, so I was thinking, as long as I am getting a doe kid from AZ, why not spend the extra $$ and get a really nice kid from a more proven doe?

So anyway, I'm getting a buck from Montana Sky, with my second choice being Legally Blonde, so those two are out(I wish I could get a kid from Blonde, mom said no related though :( ) So my choices are(note that it doesn't matter whether they have their CH or not, I just want to choose from the better doe)

choices:

CH Altrece Breathtaking 3-04 90 VEEV 4-03 88 VEEV
Altrece Club Wedd
Altrece Say Something Jilly

Here is the site: http://altrece.com/Mature%20does.htm

And if you have another suggestion for a doe please let me know :) And I'm sorry but I cannot afford kids out of Brambleberry(although I wish I could)

so what does everybody think?

Oh, here is the buck that I wanted to get a daughter out of, its Sunra:

I really like Wedd...it was very close between she and Jilly,..Breathtaking is a very nice doe also and they all have such a dairy look/conformation but with no rear udder shot of Breathtaking I compared Jilly and Wedd..both are great but I do like Wedd better and her color is a plus it really helped to "see" her udder.

By general appearance and teat size I go with Jilly

Breathtaking isnt so breathtaking to me

Wedd's teats are SO TINY

(note to anyone looking for the does mentioned, breathtaking is one of the first does on the page and Jilly and Wedd are the last two on the page, there are a lot of does on that page)

I voted for Jilly...She has an amazing udder! It would be between her and Wedd for me. Breathtaking is gorgeous, but they don't show an udder shot and I dunno  The other two really seem to pop at you for some reason. Looks like you'll be buying from a great farm for sure, they all are just beautiful goats. Good luck with your decision!!!

I like all of them. But Breathtaking's udder looks nice and high in the rear and also has a really nice shape from the side. But it is hard without a rear shot. I like Jilly also, she looks like she is a very nice doe.

Any of them would be a good choice!

I think I'll email Alethea and quiz her on some of the does.

Teat size doesn't matter to me, Sunra improves teat size on his daughters, and Wedd's daughters are really nice, if you look on the Herdsire page under the buck Tulane(2nd buck) the 2 udder shots in the middle are from her daughters. I like Wish Granted but she's already planned AI to another buck :( What does everybody think of Here to Happily? She is the 4th doe up from the bottom. I know her website is a little messy, but she has a lot of goats to show off :p

I think I"m going to quiz her on Wedd, I looked up her pedigree and she has a few of the lines I have now, as well as the lines that were lost with Caesar: http://adgagenetics.org/GoatDetail.aspx ... L001281629

So many choices :sigh: :shades:

okdk, here is Alethea's email back:

Hi Sarah,
Savannah is a finished Ch and she milked over 2200 lbs. as a yearling on test. She has a gorgeous udder. I think I took some snapshots of her udder earlier this year and I will look for them. Rio is a little more sharp/dairy than Savannah . She milks very well but I don't have a record on her. Savannah lived in Florida with Devonshire dairy goats for her first 2 years, so she was shown and on test.

Jilly is a favorite and she was GCH in one of the two shows I went to last year. I plan to show her at our 4ring show Sept 7. She's very correct in general appearance and she probably milks about 10 lbs a day. Not a huge amount, but not bad. Club Wedd milks less, only about 8 lbs per day. She does keep milking late into the year so that would help her record if we were on test. She also was GCH in one of the few shows she went to. Wedd is a little shorter style doe.

Jilly would be a good choice for shoulders and front end assembly. She's very smooth and correct. Savannah was extremely overweight when I got her back. She had not kidded for two years. I did an LA 200 flush on her and got her bred. I was so thrilled! She is not as smooth in shoulders but I believe it was due to being severely overfed. Her sisters Rio and Manhattan are not like that at all. I don't like fat goats so I typically keep them on the trim side. Savannah has lost some weight since she's been milking but I feel like she's "ruined" from being so overweight. She was very sharp and angular as a milking yearling.

I'm starting to work on breeding plans and I'll post them soon. My Frontpage program hasn't been working so I've not been able to post updates lately.
Hope this helps,
Alethea
I like that Club Wedd milks longer, but I don't really like smaller does. I like the shoulder assembly on Rio better than I do Savannah and I do like Jilly.

So I think I'm narrowing it down to Jilly and Rio. Here are their pics so you guys don't have to load the pages(unless you guys have another suggestion) I think I may be leaning towards Rio.

Haha, I find so many new things on her site every time I read, here is what she said about Rio:

"She is possibly more correct in mammary than her dam, Dallas.
Manhattan has freshened with a very round, high mammary with lots of arch and width. Both of these does have a great will to milk, still coming into the milkroom full after 330 days fresh."

This is like choosing a pair of shoes at a department store :hair:

Just fyi, Dallas is daughter to Sky, the doe I have a buck reserved out of, Dallas is deceased. Alethea told me this is her strongest damline, so I'm just kind of not sure which to choose now.......
