Hello, I'm new to the goat spot and having goats in general. My husband, my stepdaughter and myself have adopted four bottle babies. Two of them are Nubians, and two of them are Lamanchas. All are does except for one, who is a Nubian buck. I've been spending an immense amount of time with them. Does anyone know how to get them to stop nibbling on your fingers? Its cute now, but it won't be cute when they are 135 pounds.

Hello and welcome and congratulations on being a goat owner!

What age are your bottle kids?
And do they have access to good quality hay, goat feed pellets/grain/concentrates, and browse/pasture/forage?

Blowing on their nose when they nibble should make them stop.
Yes. We have all of that in reach for them. They are 2 weeks old. Also, they have fresh water always. Thank you for the suggestion. I will try that on them.

Nibbling on fingers, eh? That is new to me. Have they twigs? Or is it that they simply do like the smell of "mama's" fingers?

Oh, and welcome!! :)
Oh, I forgot, they may also be looking for the salt that is on your skin!

Do you have loose minerals available for them?

Btw, also small kids have a razor sharp wire cutter behind the corners of their mouths!

Welcome, glad you are here. :)

Finger nibblers, get a squirt bottle or squirt gun and blast them when they try. ;)

I suggest you first try getting up to make a sudden end to the cosy time!
Welcome.... happy you have joined
Have you tried the trick "You nibble my fingers, I go away"?
