New Member - Question - About Adding New NDs to my Current Two NDs

I found "The Goat Spot.net" when looking for answers to a couple questions I have.

First, let me set you up with what I currently have as far as goats. I have two female Nigerian Dwarfs that have just turned 1 year old. Both have been de-budded by the breeder, but they have grown back some little horns.

The paddock I have my goats in is 50 yards x 50 yards and I have a shed I built for them that is 8 x 12.

I am planning on picking up two more female NGs this weekend. They are approximately 2 months old, but they have NOT been de-budded. I plan on slowly introducing them to my current girls by keeping them separate at first and allowing them to start to see each other through the fence after at least one week of quarantine. I'm fencing parallel to the current paddock so the new girls can be introduced but remain separate during the day. We also planning on have some 'play time' where we will have them together with some adult supervision while they are together.

So...what do I need to worry about? My current girls are great and not aggressive at all...they do play with each other and do the normal goat head butting.

Welcome to the forum! 😊
Your girls look sweet! Supervision will be good. They may be perfectly friendly with them being so little… or they may not. Depending on how they interact, you might have to keep them separated a little longer until they get some size to them, or provide some areas they can escape to if needed.

Welcome!! It really depends on the goats. My Herd Queen, who is super nice to her daughter who I bought her with, when I got new goats, she was AWFUL. It took 2 months to get to the point we felt they were integrated properly.
The others it only took a few days.
Good luck, and your goats are lovely!

If you want to stay with no horned goats you will not be able to disbudded them now(Just in case you didn't want horns)
. I would put them in a fence line next to your two older does so then can see each other first. After a couple day(maybe a week) put them together and see how they do. They will head butt some no matter what you do, as the need to fined that pecking order.
