New show wether with fever

We brought home my sons show wether (Boer-January born) yesterday. E brought him and his buddy goat together in an XL dog kennel, in the back of the pickup, 3hr drive home. Couple stops for potty break and gas. Noticed he was breathing a little fast, the buddy doe was fine. He didn’t eat last night or things morning. After lunch noticed his tail down so my son took his temp, 105.5. Breeder was three hours away but a friend had draxxin and banamine on hand so the breeder said that was fine cause he’s closer. Injected him with 1ml of each banamine and draxxin. He’s 51lbs. He was finally up with the buddy this evening and was eating hay finally. We’re in south texas. Humid days of 82-86°and nights are cool 60-67°. Of this just from getting trip stress or possible pneumonia? Not seeing any other symptoms. No runny nose, no coughing or raspy breath, no diarrhea.

I would say Pneumonia. I'd use Tylan if you can. But La200 works in a pinch as @happybleats says. That temp needs to come down ASAP.

If he's eating finally then great. I'd also give garlic to see if he'd eat it. If not, I'd make a drench and drench it down him.

First, yes giving him banamine was fine for fever, however the dosage is 1cc per 100lbs once every 24-36 hours. so you gave him double the dose. With banamine it’s better to under rather than over dose because it can be rough on his system. I would make sure you give him some probios to keep his rumen on track.
Excede, Excenel are great for respiratory issues but they’re RX, so if you don’t have access to a vet then Tylan 200 would be my next choice. It’s dosage is 1cc per 25lbs twice a day so your wether would get 2cc’s twice daily for 5 days.
I hope he gets better quickly for you.

His temp was in normal range this morning at 7am when we checked it. 102.5. He was up and walking around. He did eat all his hay last night. Gonna try him on some feed this morning if he'll eat and check temp again at lunch time.

Great job!
What is excede or excenel? Never heard of it. good to know on the Tylenol. Is that pill or liquid?

Those are prescription strength antibiotics used for respiratory infections. Tylenol wasn't what @GoofyGoat meant to type. More than likely autocorrect changed Tylan 200 (over the counter antibiotic) to Tylenol.

Draxxin was a good choice here. Shipping fever/pneumonia, same thing really. Stress reduces immunity. Be sure to give another draxxin shot 7 days from the first. If he begins to feel bad or fever spikes before that date you will need a secondary antibiotic. I like Nuflor(RX) or Tylan 200 for OTC choice.
B complex as a support and def probiotics daily.
Fresh raw garlic is an immunity booster. You can make a paste with garlic and olive oil and feed a teaspoon a few times a day. Also vit c is beneficial.
Good job on jumping on this quickly.

Best wishes

LA200 is a good choice for respiratory issues if vet Rx is not an option. It's 1x a day for 5 days. Probiotics and B-Complex helps with stress of the move. I would have a fecal done to make sure no cocci or worms as that can just add to the stress of moving and make things worse.
