Is it normal for a doe to have no teets between pregnancy? I have received a doe and sire I was told she’s had two previous pregnancies, both successful. However she has no teets visible or to the touch. Is this normal? I’m new to this and can’t find any information on the subject. Is there any way of knowing if she’s ever been pregnant for sure?

No Teats or no udder? She should always have teats..maybe small but should be there. Some do dry up flat with no indication of a udder.

If you can post pics of her, taken from behind with her tail up that would help us understand what you mean. Even a baby, or a male goat will have teats (small but there). The udder will increase when in milk, and shrink when not producing.

You will need to post pictures. They only have one udder with 2 sides. Should have 2 teats.

I agree, all goats, buck and doe's have teats.

The way you are describing it, she has none?

I’ll take a picture. I don’t see a bulge of an udder and can’t see or feel teets... Supposedly she’s been pregnant twice. I’m not so sure.

Any shots of her teat area?

Can you get someone to hold her up so you can get pics of her there?

IMG_7047 (2).JPG So she has lots of hair! Lots of people will shave around the escutcheon and backside to get a better view of the udder, etc. so they can keep an eye on development during pregnancy. I found a photo for your reference..... you may be suprised as to what you find under there.;) This is a 5 month old doe kid, you can see her teats and a bit of mammary tissue, but of course not udder, as she has not freshened.

I would think if you get your hand back there - above the teats - that is the udder (there is only one - with two halves to the udder). You should feel some tissue there if she has indeed freshened twice before.....
