Okay Lyric has scurs and one of them is getting pretty big, is there anything I can do about it?
I'll try and get a pic tonight.

Well it depends what it's like as to what you can do.If it is large at the base like a regular horn you could burn it or band it.I don't reccomend banding but whatever works for you.If it is tiny and thin you can probably wiggle it a little and it will come off.

depends on the size. I have a doe wtih scurs but you can hardly tell that they are there. IT falls off like once a year usually.

It's pretty big and long. It used to be a little stub.

If it is pretty big then I would band it. Pictures would be helpful.

Okay here's the pic, just so you know it used to be maybe a little less than half the size it is now.

i would band it. See if you can get someone to hold her down (dads work great) and use a metal nail file or a wire saw to cut a little notch as low as you can get in the scur. then slide an elastrator band over it into the notch. Use little strpis of duct tape to hold it in place. I usually replacxe the band every one to two weeks.

I would band it too, I have a couple does with scurs like that, its not a big deal.

Okay I've got some new pics uploading. Turns out she does have the other scur it's just a lot less noticeable at night, which is when I took those pictures. But she doesn't just have 2 scurs she has THREE!

Thats odd! The bigger one looks like a regular horn while the other 2 look like scurs! Band the bigger one and the 2 smaller look to be easy to come off, though I would watch the direction of their growth, so they don't grow too long and curl into her head.

If you can tell the scur on the right side is a little bloody looking that's what made me look closer. It and that other scur are looking like they're about to fall off. :shrug:

when scurs fall off they do sometimes bleed a little. If you are concerned just use some blood stop power or like Wonder Dust
