Alright so just to fill everybody in, I live in a medium sized farming town and my mom got married last year. So we have two houses now, a house in town and a house 10 miles out of town on 20 acres. Currently we live in the town house, but we are building a house to fit the big family now up in our "country" place. Right now I'm keeping my goats at a friends house, but I don't think I can keep them there because there is no use-able stall and Holly needs a stall to kid in. So I'm having to move my goats. And the only reason we can't move them up to our "country" property is because no body is living up there right now and the roof isn't on my barn. And then a little light bulb went "BING" above my adorable little head and I thought. "Well Sara why don't you just put the roof on the barn, and go live up there yourself." And I told myself, "Sara YOUR ARE A GENIUS!" So that's what I'm going to do. Yes I am, I'm quite a self sufficient teen, the trailer/house up there is functional, it has a heater and a stove and a refrigerator and a washer and dryer. So I'm moving myself and my goats up. I'm going to do independent study for school and come down once and a while for supplies.

-sigh- alright I think I got it all out.

However there isn't any internet so I might not talk to you guys for awhile...

I was so gung ho for the idea until the end ;)

well l hope it works out - how does your mom feel about it?

Boy I wouldn't want to live anywhere by myself. My friend and I were discussing this today. She is old enough to move out but isn't ready to live by herself. I totally understood her reasoning.

Keep us posted on how things go.

My mom seems to like the idea, but she says she has to talk to Bob and sleep on it. Oh Bob is my stepdad. ;D

Oh my gosh I'm super excited. I would love to live up there.
It's 20 acres of pure heaven, the goats love it but I wouldn't want them up there without me because there has been a cougar around and coyotes.

I think this is a terrific idea. If security is the worry maybe get yourself a shotgun and/or protective dog. Otherwise, I believe everyone should have the experience of living on your own for a time. It builds self sufficiency/independence, character, helps you to become your own best friend. Believe me, these days there are tons of people out there who just don't know how to be alone for more than ten minutes!

Thanks Allison. Yeah it sounds great and my mom says it's a good idea. And for the first two months or so there will be worker crews doing some ground prep for our house. So I won't be totally alone. I'm just so excited.

OK, OK, OK. Now maybe somewhere I missed it. Sara how old are you?
I give you so much credit for wanting to do all this, but please let me know how old you are so I will not be worried sick all the time about you.
We all can tell you have so much drive, and that is great, but I am just a little worried about you.

We will need updates...after all you are 15. My mom and dad wouldn't have been about me moving out to the country by myself at that age...I would have been grounded just for asking!!! I do wish you luck that your stepdad agrees but if it were me, I wouldn't want to live by myself at that age.

I do an alternative school, and I'm already ahead of the other kids. So I'll come in twice a week and work. There are neighbors a little ways down the road. And my moms colleges live over the hill. And there's a phone. ;D
