As I told you in my last post. Ron and I were having a hard time healing from the loss of our Sassy. We were looking for a little dog to help us heal but were having no luck. Most of the places had cute little puppies but they didn't have little price tags. So we decided to try our county SPCA. Again no luck most of the available dogs were either adopted or bigger than we wanted... So on a whim Ron said we should go to the Animal Shelter. I had my doubts that we would find anything appropriate there but we went just the same. After looking at kennel after kennel and not finding anything one of the friendly staff members told us that there was another section of kennels on the other side of the building so we went to look there as well. Ron is the softie in the family and has to stop at each kennel and say hi to every dog that he sees, I on the other hand have a more practical eye and made it to the end of the second bank of kennels before he did. As soon as I saw her it was a done deal! She was the right size and the cutest little baby I'd seen all day long. One of the attendants allowed us to take her to a holding area to spend some time with her before making our decision (not necessary) but on the way she looked over at me and literally told me what her name was.. It was love at first sight. Ron was over whelmed with her and we ended up taking her home that very day.
So I would love for all of you to meet our new little Princess, Miss Maggie Mae. She is a cross of Jack Russell and Beagle and the cutest little sprite we could have ever wanted.
