Phoebe House Farm Thread

We have had a small farm for going on 2 years now. Although we have had chickens for most of my life, I didn't count that as a farm. Now that we have a large flock of chickens, five Nigerian dwarf goats (and some babies), and a garden, it feels a lot more like a farm (albeit a small one). I thought it was time I start a thread for our farm.

In addition to the goats and chickens, we have two dogs and an outdoor cat. Buz, a Doberman pinscher, Uki, a border collie coonhound mix, and Squirrel (because her fur looks like one.)

Buz:
Dog Dobermann Carnivore Liver Fence
Dog Dog breed Working animal Comfort Grey

Uki:
Dog Carnivore Dog breed Companion dog Working animal
Dog Collar Working animal Carnivore Whiskers

Squirrel:
Cat Felidae Carnivore Small to medium-sized cats Plant
Cat Carnivore Felidae Grey Window

More coming, I'm about to exceed the ten-file limit! :ROFLMAO:

I had one doe who was so persistent about getting into my yard so she could get the chicken food. She got to being so annoying about it that I traded her off! 😅

That is a tempting idea... Just kidding. I do like her still.

Introducing our new addition to the farm...

1,000 mealworms! Doesn't look like a lot in the picture, but their all in there. Definitely not the most exciting or cuddly addition! :ROFLMAO: I hate worms, but I love my chickens!

I did also have a foster puppy, but only for 4 days. This is my first and I was really just helping her foster mom, but I found that four days was enough time to bond. It was hard letting her go, but the family who took her are fantastic. I'm gonna look into more fostering once I'm out of school. We'll see! 🤞😁

Meet Noodles! (Who I was so busy watching in those four days that I forgot to post pictures. 🤪😂 I loved her to death, though! 🥰)

Buz adored her from the start:

Uki wasn't sure until the last couple of days. She takes a few days to warm up to puppies, but when she does, she's the best at wearing them out for bedtime! 😅💜

Wow! What a lot of worms 😳
Aww Noodles looks sweet. 💕 That’s cool! I could never foster I’d end up adopting them all!!

That's one thing I'm having to consider: am I capable of fostering without keeping them all? I have a friend who fosters (the one I helped with Noodles), so I plan on asking her tons of questions. She'll probably be sick of me by the time I'm done with her! 🤪

How does Buz do with the chickens and goats? I’ve always had a thing for Dobies 😜
Like I already said, Buz does really well with our animals, however, he proved that he knows when another animal is a threat. We had a HUGE opossum inside our fence late last night. At the time having nothing better to get it with, we set the dogs on it (they are up to date on their shots). It was kinda their purpose to protect us and the animals. Uki wasn't scared of it, which doesn't surprise me and went after it pretty fast. Buz was definitely nervous, but he went after it and actually bit down on it pretty hard! They kept it cornered for us until we could deal with it better. I think he gets a purple heart for that! 💜 ;):p

I updated the listing for the little boys to include Zach and because we just wethered Juniper's buckling. If Zach sells first we plan to keep Rosie's wether. I'd like to keep him because he's so much like her, but we can't keep him and Zach.

Pippin tried mint ice cream this morning... 🙈😆 I brought him in the house for some cuddle time. My mom was eating some and he tried to steal it. She let him lick the residue off the spoon... Oh my goodness he went crazy about it! 😆 Then we sat on the couch and cuddled for a bit.

I'll admit, I was a bit concerned that if I posted about the ice cream on here I would get a lot of flack for letting him eat it. 😅 I personally didn't think it was a problem, but some people these days can get so opinionated! I love Goat Spot! 💕

Well… TGS isn’t like that! 😁
Not that I recommend feeding him his own bowl on a daily basis 😜
